Doing our bit

March 31, 2011

This year the team at Temples Northwich decided to take advantage of the booming lettings market to raise money for Comic Relief.

Temples Northwich has grown substantially over the years, in properties and staff, and look forward to their 5th anniversary next month.  This month the office raised £100 by taking advantage of the buoyant lettings market and donating £20 per tenancy application during Comic Relief week to help the less fortunate.  Senior Property Manager, Stuart Sykes, also spent an impressive seven hours on Friday evening taking pledges, which by the end of the night topped £1200!

Comic Relief is always a time to think about how lucky we are and the things we have that others can only dream of.  Jennie Priestner, Lettings Negotiator, was at the forefront of this charity initiative and explained, “sometimes it’s easy for us to take for granted what we class as basic things, such as our homes.  Our job is based on finding people their dream homes and it’s nice knowing that the money we raise may have helped someone have an education, or build their version of a dream home.”

Lenny Henry showed us how easy it is to make such a difference in his documentary where he bought a family in Africa a house for £800. This was one of the aspects that inspired the Northwich office to try to make a difference.

The team, along with Stuart’s efforts, raised over £1300, enough to buy a house in Africa and then some!  Thank you to all the people who applied for properties and who pledged to Stuart last week, you helped raise our very decent total.
