Northwich and its surrounding towns of Knutsford, Middlewich, Winsford and Frodsham enjoy excellent road and rail networks, located near the M6 and other major motorways as well as rail links to Manchester, Chester and Liverpool. Many people are attracted to the area because they can enjoy living in a rural area, even if their work takes them further afield.
Letting in Northwich
The town is earmarked for an exciting regeneration project known as ‘The Vision’ -a 15-year strategy that will revive 10 key sites in Northwich. Many industry experts are predicting that Northwich’s renaissance will be the next “big investment and regeneration opportunity” to happen in the North West.
Northwich is a thriving market town, distinguished by beautiful black and white ‘magpie’ buildings, remnants of its historic wealth built on the salt mining industry. The creation of waterways added to the town’s prosperity, and it remains famous for being home to the Anderton Boat Lift which continues to attract a stream of narrow boats and visitors every year.
Some 68,000 people live in Northwich (about 21% of the population of Cheshire West and Chester) and the number is expected to increase by about 5% by 2016. It has a thriving business community and is home to major organisations including Barclays and Brunner Mond.
There are excellent local amenities. The town has a busy shopping precinct with many high street names alongside independent retailers. In addition, there are a number of leisure centres and swimming pools, a library and attractions including the Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse.
There are many schools in the Northwich area with strong reputations. The town is also home to The Grange, the widely-respected independent day school.
Letting in Knutsford
Knutsford is a distinctive old town with cobbled streets and a thriving array of cafes and restaurants. It’s got a thriving business community and is a great place for browsing round small, independent shops or enjoying a night out.
Letting in Middlewich
In recent times Middlewich has become a tourist centre, attracting visitors with its beautiful canals and heritage centre.
Several major projects are now planned which will change the face of Middlewich, including the re-development of the historic Town Wharf area and the re-opening of the railway station.
Letting in Winsford
Winsford has become an important administrative centre with the building of Cheshire West and Chester Council’s HQ as well as being home to the HQ of Cheshire Police and Cheshire Fire Brigade. A number of national companies are based in Winsford, providing good employment opportunities for the surrounding area.
